Silence was the first language

Autumn and Winter are seasons of silence and no distraction. There’s no sound in nature to distract us, nor vivid colours nor constant movements and swaying. The stillness in the external world can then accentuate what we previously would drown in sensory overload; chaos, turmoil, deep sadness. I honestly think this is behind why so many are depressed in this period and I think the depression causes the physical symptoms and not vice versa.
