I think what makes life on earth so distinctly difficult and painful is having to make choices. A choice means a narrowing down, a sacrificing of the alternatives, a forgoing. And the less we trust what we can’t see, the more confused and doubtful we become by what we can see.
With every step, we have to choose between different dimensions. The denser a dimension (i.e. this 3D world of the ego) the more that leans and gravitates towards it. To sacrifice what feels heavier and is more immediate in experience takes a lot of heart and a lot of inner knowing. And that’s neither forthcoming nor as evident as you may think.
