Understanding lends itself to hope so before you attempt to delve into a trauma or a difficult feeling, try to find understanding instead of trying to get rid of it. Make room for it in your mind before your heart can fully integrate it.
We repress or resist what we can’t fully perceive in our minds. The mind is the one in need of hope; the heart already knows because it’s not turned outwards into the external circumstances. When we can’t perceive a consistent form to the problem then we get anxious and shut down because it seems like an endless struggle.
