It wasn’t easy

My sadness has meaning. I refuse to participate in anything that puts pressure on me to clean that up. I resign in protest. I’ll be fine in this wilderness on my own. My wild heart has found its home.

One response to It wasn’t easy

  1. Unfortunately sadness can be so expected, so habitual, so comforting to a lot of people that it becomes their home. Their default. It becomes so comfortable that in a moment of pure joy, we may still feel like something’s wrong. It’s finding a balance between that, and allowing yourself to feel sad once in a while that we must master. Feeling too sad isn’t healthy, nor is ignoring it. We have the ability to feel the emotion for a reason. I’d rather be an emotional mess than stone cold, at least.
