Light isn’t inherently illuminating. Darkness isn’t inherently obfuscating. Pain isn’t inherently destructive. Pleasure isn’t inherently invigorating. Knowledge isn’t inherently guiding.
The divine is the eternal sanctuary we access in the capricious circumstances we get desperately entangled in. So in the dark, it is the divine that makes us see. And even in the light there are those in darkness because they feel self-sufficient and not in need of the divine. So the light becomes a source of darkness. And in pain, it is the divine that soothes us and provides a transcendental ladder through it. There are those for whom pleasure becomes a source of utmost anguish because they thought they could do without the divine, and so worshipped what is stagnant and can give no life.
Don’t fear the transient, don’t fear change, don’t fear the unknown because what you’re really seeking is a spiritual communion with the divine, and not a specific circumstance. Know that whatever situation you find yourself in is by divine order and therefore you can always, always access Him. Always.
Wherewith Allaah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way.
