Nothing holds a flood back

Obsession with doing and achieving is in essence an attempt to quell the innate existential anxiety that arises from the fundamental uncertainty of it all. Propelling oneself forward into the world armed with agenda, motivation and vision is a way to control one’s fate, to forcefully capture certainty. But ironically, it only fuels the uncertainty as the knowledge of the unknown and unknowables grow exponentially.
